Football Throwing Drills

Throw back and forth by twisting your hips to get into throwing position while keeping your feet in place. Throw the ball about five times in each of the three positions.

Throwing a football properly involves much more than just rearing your arm back and letting the ball fly. A good throw begins with proper footwork and correct body positioning. Quarterbacks must also learn to perform these fundamentals while on the move, at game speed. Throwing drills can help warm up a quarterback’s arm while teaching the fundamentals that will help him make strong, accurate throws.

Two Knee Drill

Have the quarterback and receiver both kneel, facing other, about 10 yards apart.
